Welcome to the ÆTHER project website

ÆTHER is an IST-FET project funded under the 6th framework programme (FP6). Selected under the fourth call in the Advanced Computing Architecture (ACA) initiative of the Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) programme, ÆTHER's main objective is to study novel self-adaptive computing technologies for future embedded and pervasive applications. The ÆTHER project started January 1st, 2006 for a duration of 36 months.

AMWAS Workshop and Autumn School

The first AETHER – MORPHEUS Symposium entitled "From Reconfigurable to Self - Adaptive Computing" (AMWAS’07) was organized in Paris, France in October 8-11, 2007. The innovative “Workshop-Autumn School” format has been chosen to provide participants with both grounding on a new, challenging scientific area and with exposure to research results and proposals.

ÆTHER Workshop at IST-2006 Event in Helsinki

The ÆTHER consortium proposed a workshop on the thread model in processor design and high-performance parallel computing at the IST-2006 Event in Helsinki. The workshop, which is entitled "The thread model: challenges and perspectives" will include an introduction to the ÆTHER project and some presentations on processor design, a new approach of threading, an advanced compilation technique and finally new forms of threading for reconfigurable computing.
