Public information and education

Industry

The future developments of the AETHER technologies will enable the industry to have pervasive control systems for process monitoring (e.g. in chemical industry). The expected benefits relie on process optimisation, increased productivity and good security and working conditions.

Business solutions

The technologies involded in the AETHER project will provide efficient and delocalised information networks including intelligent personal assistants and virtual mobility solutions (e.g. teleconferences). These improvements will be a great benefit for cost and time savings, enabling people to have a better access to information and a greater reactivity. Finally, they will allow better competitiveness and flexibility.

Homeland security

The citizen's security in public areas or industrial sites will improve by the use of smart cameras with built-in recognition and tracking algorithms. These cameras could form a network with sensors for sensitive area and public area monitoring.

Health care

The future developments of the technologies will lead to intelligent medical cameras and insiders as well as medical monitoring environment (including wearable and inplantable devices) with communication abilities (alert systems for e.g. cardiac people). These equipments will allow faster and better diagnostic, medical intervention and health care. Another advantage of these systems is that they will enable greater patient autonomy, better quality of life and independancy for elderly and disabled people. We could also cite a lower weight on social systems due to faster diagnostic , less hospitalisations and more home-care.

Home

Ambient intelligence (including intelligent heat control and multimedia) will enable users to have home assistance and savety as well as user-oriented services. Energy savings will also be an interesting benefits of our technologies.

Transportation

AETHER technologies will provide assistance to the driver as well as intelligent public transport systems. This will allow better transportation security as well as attractiveness of public transport and sustainable development.

Communication

Efficient and secure communications systems provided by self-adaptive technologies will allow better information for anyone everywhere at affordable costs.

Public information and education

The benefits of AETHER technologies in the public information domain rely on easy connection, intelligent personal assistant and e-learning. These improvements will allow a better access to information, a better social cohesion and inclusion and a life long learning as well as the attractiveness of European workforce (with better and up to date qualifications).
